Our History
We incorporated as Jupiter Gym in 1991 and were originally located in the Park of Commerce, off of Central Blvd, Jupiter. In 1999, in order to accommodate our growing membership needs, we built a 10,000 square building on Indiantown Road, right in the heart of Jupiter. From that time forward, we started to do business as Jupiter Fitness Center and grew our membership to the point that we needed to add more than another 10,000 square feet.
Dan Amero, a veteran of the fitness industry, with more than 30 years owning and operating fitness centers both here and in California, started Jupiter Gym three years after he moved to Florida From California. At that time there was only one facility in Jupiter and Dan felt the need to open a more modern facility, with more up to date equipment and modern fitness classes.
Starting out as a racquetball instructor and trainer in Lancaster, and then Beverly Hills, California, Dan quickly established himself in the health club business. Raising from instructor to membership sales associate, and then club manager of the prestigious Century Park Racquet Club, Dan quickly found his niche.
Dan’s love for the fitness industry led him to partner up with two former fitness center managers and together, opened a small chain of fitness centers in the Pasadena/Glendale/Burbank areas of California. Dan also co- owned and operated Arcadia Nautilus which he and his partner converted from a woman’s only fitness center to a co-ed facility.
